Frequently asked questions.
What can I expect in the first session?
Our first meeting is an intake session, where we’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, your goals, and your history. It’s also a chance for you to get a feel for my approach and see if it feels like a good fit.
Who do you work with?
I work primarily with people ages 14+ seeking support with mood disorders, relationship struggles, attachment wounds, life transitions, ADHD, grief, and self-worth. I have a variety of work experience, so if you aren’t sure if you fit into any of these categories—don’t worry, we rarely do. Feel free to reach out anyway, and I can determine if your concern is within the scope of my competence.
Do you offer online (telehealth) sessions?
Yes. I provide secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Montana. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.
How long are sessions?
Both intake and follow-up sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
What are your fees?
Initial Intake Session: $195
Weekly Sessions: $175
I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide if we’re a good fit before starting.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with BCBS MT, Cigna, Allegiance, First Choice Health Network, and Pacifc Source. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage, copays, and session costs.
What if you don’t take my insurance?
If I am not in-network with your provider, you can still see me by paying out-of-pocket. Some clients may also be able to use out-of-network benefits, depending on their plan.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. We’ll revisit your needs as therapy progresses and adjust the frequency together.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee. More details can be found in the intake agreement upon scheduling.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is expected within the week of your appointment. I will charge the credit, debit, or HSA/FSA card that you provide during your intake paperwork weekly.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
That depends on your goals, the concerns you’re working on, and the pace that feels right for you. Some clients come for a few months, while others find value in longer-term work.
